We took the staff from the KL and Penang offices on a 3-day, 2-night Staff Retreat in Cherating, Pahang from 14-16 April 2012. The objectives of the retreat were:
- Strengthen the sense of oneness and belonging to the firm; the sense of togetherness and camaraderie
- Remind ourselves who we are as part of the Arup family. Reinvigorate the Arup spirit. Refresh the Arup culture in ourselves.
- Illustrate, describe, educate ourselves on what Arup values mean to the way we do our work, i.e. what it means in practice – in the office, with our colleagues, with our clients and others
The staff went through a series of fun and learning activities. Our MD, Wan Anuar Wan Endut presented the vision and aims of the firm and we were also honoured by the presence of Andrew Chan, the Deputy Chairman of Arup Group who gave an inspiring speech about what it means to be part of the Arup family during BBQ dinner on Sunday night. We left Cherating on Monday morning. Everybody was happy and program has achieved the objectives planned. Together, we can shape a better world.
